THE RAINBOW
The rainbow is one of the most beautiful sights to behold in creation. The colors as they dance in the sky after the thunderstorm or rain showers remind us that the sun will shine again. Clouds and storms do come and will come again, but they do not last forever. Do you know where rainbows originate? I am not talking about the meteorological phenomenon that produces the prism like effect. Rainbows have come to represent many ideologies today. However, the rainbow was originally created by the Living God. The rainbow was given as a sign to Noah that God would never destroy the world again through water. It was a covenant that God established with Noah, his descendants and the entire planet. This is one reason why the simple sight of a rainbow brings a certain sense of peace, joy and beauty. The rainbow was God’s way of communicating to Noah that He is the God of redemption, the God of peace and the God of hopefulness. This truth about the rainbow is found in the Bible. The Bible is filled with accounts of God’s love, favor and goodness. Next time you see a rainbow in the sky, think about reading your Bible and you will see that the Living Word of God will bring more hope, joy and gladness to your soul than you could imagine. Always remember rainbows come and go depending on the weather, but the Beautiful Word of God is eternal and unchanging. By the way the greatest rainbow of all is Jesus the Christ.
